The ESMF is a European federation created with the main purpose of uniting the Silat Melayu in Europe and make them work and act together.
The ESMF will work on inviting teachers from Asia to bring more Silat Melayu knowledge in Europe on all sorts of levels.
A close cooperation with all national federations is to be developped and maintained.
As Silat Melayu is inscribed since 2019 on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity (UNESCO), the ESMF wants to promote Silat Melayu as a cultural heritage and sport, by organizing seminars, festivals and silat melayu championships.
